Chinese International Industrial Fair "CIF-2008" (4-8 November 2008, Shanghai, China)

The State Committee for Science and Technologies (SCS&T) together with Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Scientific and Technical Sphere has acted as a collective organizer of an S&T section within the framework of Belarus National Exposition at Chinese International Industrial Fair "CIF-2008", 4-8 November 2008, Shanghai, China. Participation of Belarus in CIF-2008 was decided by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus N 171 of 8 February 2008, and also Plan of the international actions of the SCS&T for 2008. In the scientific section having an area of 102 sq. m. over 150 developments have been exposed in the form of information tablets, samples and information materials.

   


The stand of the Ministry of Education united developments of 12 universities, including Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technical University and its Scientific Technological Park “Metolit”, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Belarusian State Technological University, Belarusian State University of Transport (Gomel), Gomel State University named after F.Skoryna, Gomel State Technical University named after P.Sukhoy, Belarusian-Russian University (Mogilyov), Vitebsk State Technological University, Polotsk State University, Grodno State University named after Y.Kupala.

 

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was represented in Shanghai by Scientific Practical Centre on Material Sciences, Institute of Technology of Metals (Mogilyov), State Research-and-Production Association "Tsentr”, Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer, and also the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering.

Thematic areas of the scientific section corresponded to the topics of CIF-2008 being as follows:

  • technologies for processing of metals and nanotechnologies;
  • information technologies and radioelectronics;
  • polymeric materials;
  • new materials and coatings;
  • energy saving and ecology;
  • food processing industry and agriculture;
  • medicine, etc.

It’s hard to single out the most prospective developments as all them seemed to be interesting for the visitors. Belarusian experts have carried more than 80 meetings and negotiations with the representatives of companies, enterprises and organizations of China, Thailand and Korea. As a result, the contracts have been signed for 1,7 mln USD directly at the Exhibition, and also several protocols on intentions and dealer agreements have agreed.
