Exhibition "Innovative Russia" (30 September-3 October, 2009, St. Petersburg)

The Exhibition “Innovative Russia” took place from the 30 September till the 3 October 2009 in St. Petersburg in the framework of Russian Innovation Week. Thematic areas of the Exhibition covered the main directions of innovation activities development – science and education, nanotechnologies, fundamental research, information technologies and electrotechnics, production technologies, new materials and chemical products, fuel and energy, ecology and effective nature use, technologies of natural systems, transport.

In accordance with the Order of the Council of Ministers of 8 July 2009 N 34/575-144 the SCS&T acted as an organizer of Belarusian S&T section at this Exhibition. 12 organizations of the Ministry of Education and 2 organizations of the NAS of Belarus presented their developments in the collective stand of the SCS&T.

Ministry of Education was represented by the following higher education establishments and organizations: Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Belarusian State Technological University, Skorina’s Gomel State University, Suhoy’s Gomel State Technical University, Belarusian State Transport University, Belarusian-Russian University, Polotsk State University, Vitebsk State Technological University, Brest State Technical University, Scientific Technological park of BNTU “Metolit”.

Within the framework of the Exhibition more than 110 negotiations with the representatives of organizations and companies from Russia, India, Sweden, Germany, Norway and other countries have been conducted at the stand of the Ministry of Education. Some of the exhibits should be marked:

  • flexible fiber-optics endoscopes which are used at almost all heat electro stations, in security services, technical diagnostics laboratories and oil-gas-producing enterprises of Belarus;
  • composite bearing element of constructions. It can be used as main bearing element in different constructions, including those that provide ecological and anti-terrorist security;
  • abrasive polishing instruments on ceramic bundle from secondary abrasive;
  • foam glass on basis of diatomite and chemical production wastes;
  • heat– and soundproof material “TIM” on the basis of silicon dioxide, etc.

During the Exhibition the members of the delegation of the Ministry of Education took part in the events of the II St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum.

As a result of the Exhibition, the diploma signed by the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, the head of the Organizing Committee of the Russian Innovation Week M.Oseevski was given to the Scientific Technological Park “Metolit” for the active participation in the Exhibition. 40 S&T developments have been presented at the stand of the Belarusian State University. The most attention was given to the following ones:

  • equipment for production of goods from penopolyurethane for different purposes,
  • technologies of functional coatings,
  • drugs and medical equipment,
  • computer-oriented facilities,
  • water-cleaning technologies.

The members of the university delegation took part in the plenary meeting “Innovation Russia. A Myth or Reality”, in the conference “Nanotechnologies and Russian economy modernization” and round-table “Innovations in public health”.

The exposition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was represented by the developments of Metals Technology Institute and Institute of Powder Metallurgy.


During the Russian Innovation Week the representatives of  Metal Technology Institute conducted negotiations with the companies of metal and machine building sphere, Institute of Powder Metallurgy – with the companies and R&D organizations of Russia on arranging cooperation in the field of waste-water cleaning and drinking water ozonization, signing of business cooperation agreements, etc.

Participation in the events of the II St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum made possible new business contacts establishment with R&D organizations and industrial enterprises of Russia, and also with leading experts of Russia and other countries in innovations. Developments presented by the Belarusian exhibitors are actual for this region. This was proved by the number of signed agreements and preliminary arrangements.
