18th Harbin Trade and Economic Fair (June 15-19, 2007, Harbin, China)

On 15-19 June, 2007 Belarusian science was presented at the 18th Trade and Economic Fair in Harbin within the framework of a National Exposition of the Republic of Belarus. Over 250 developments of national universities and researchers of the National Academy of Sciences have been demonstrated on the collective stand of the State Committee for Science and Technologies. Besides Belarus, the following counties took part in the exhibition: Russia, Ukraine, China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, USA, Canada, Germany, England, Italy, Israel, Belgium, Sweden and the Netherlands.
Within the framework of the exhibition the protocol on intentions between the SCS&T, Department of Science and Engineering of the Government of Heilongjiang province and the Academy of sciences of Heilongjiang province was signed. Directions of cooperation have been determined there. Also the intention have been agreed to create a Belarus-Heilongjiang Centre for support of the S&T cooperation in Harbin. Belarusian branch of the Centre will be organized on the base of METOLIT Technopark in Minsk while Heilongjiangian one — at the Centre on Industrial and Technical Cooperation with Russia and Belarus in Harbin. The main purpose of the Center’s activities is the creation of the effective mechanism of interaction between the parties on the basis of bilateral mutually advantageous transfer and commercialization of technologies and scientific developments, and also joint mastering of new and high technologies in manufacture.
During the fair Belarusian organizations have carried out more than 30 meetings and negotiations. As a result, 2 contracts with a total budget ar. 190 thous. US dollars have been concluded and more than 20 agreements on cooperation and protocols on intentions have been signed.
