The results of the national youth innovation project "100 ideas for Belarus" are summed up

The Grand Final of the 12th season of the national youth innovation project "100 ideas for Belarus" was held on February 28 in Minsk in the National Library of Belarus.

The project was organized by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus.

The 12th season of the project started on November 15, 2022. There were 1,200 applications for participation in the project. There were 66 zonal (district) qualifying rounds, 6 regional and Minsk City rounds, a qualifying round of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and, for the first time, an inter-university round before the national final. An important feature of the season was a set of practice-oriented training in the basics of creation, presentation, promotion and implementation of youth developments. Seventy-five training events were held across the country.

At the opening ceremony of the final round, Igor Sergeenko, Head of the Presidential Administration, and Alexander Lukyanov, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, addressed the participants with welcoming words.

Representatives of the SCST and the State Institution "BelISA" took part in the work of three of five expert councils: Andrey Sosnovsky, head of the innovative infrastructure development, commercialization and intellectual property of the innovation policy department of the SCST; Natalya Pavlova, deputy director for scientific work of the State Institution "BelISA Natalya Pavlova and Olga Khvostova, Deputy Director for International Scientific and Innovative Work.

The result of the project was the awarding of prizes and souvenirs to 20 winners in ten nominations: "Energy, including nuclear power and energy efficiency", "Agro-industrial technologies and farming", "Industrial and construction technologies", "Health care (medical technologies, pharmacy, bio– and nano-industry)", "Chemical technologies, petrochemistry", "Information and Communication Technologies", "Ecology (rational use of natural resources and deep processing of natural resources)", "National Security and Protection from Emergency Situations", "Society and Social Sphere" and a special nomination "Best Business Idea".

So, in the category "Energy, including nuclear power, and energy efficiency" in the first age category the winner was the project "Homemade electric transport as a cheap environmentally friendly mobile way of transportation (electric pedestrian)". The project is an energy-efficient electric pedestrian with minimal monetary expenses. This technique can solve the problem of traffic jams on the roads, facilitate the work of cyclists, reduce air pollution. In the second age category, the "ThermoEzhik" project was awarded. The design is intended for the effective use of thermal energy in stoves (burzhuyka). The product is easy to assemble and allows reducing the amount of products burned to achieve the desired temperature in the room, thereby saving fuel.

The winners in the nomination "Agro-industrial Technologies and Farming" were the projects "Angurland" and "Plant Growth Regulator and Immunomodulator".

In the nomination "Industrial and construction technologies" the projects "Recycling of land by mold burning" and "Iron-based composite materials as a high-performance substitute for electrical steel" were awarded.

The winners in the nomination "Chemical Technologies, Petrochemistry" were the projects "Belarusian Tetra Pak" and "Technology for extraction of lithium ions from aqueous media".

The winners in the nomination "Information and Communication Technologies" included the projects "Mobile application "Long Distance Driver's Helper" and "Smart Gift — the best decoration for any holiday".

In the category "Ecology (rational use of natural resources and deep processing of natural resources)" the winners were the projects "Obtaining highly active mesoporous coal from woodworking industry waste" and "Highly efficient cloning of European spruce".

In the nomination "National Security and Emergency Protection" — "Save the City from Fire" and "RGT-800 (heterophase spray extinguisher)".

In the category "Society and Social Sphere" — mobile application Inmemory and information portal of the head of military-patriotic education "Voenruk".

In the nomination "Best Business Idea" the projects "Yacard" and HoReCa 3D-food printing were awarded.

As First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology Andrei Kosovsky said at the event, over the past four years, 70 participants of the competition "100 ideas for Belarus" became participants of the Republican contest of innovative projects. Andrei Kosovski reminded that the SCST was the first agency to lend a hand to the project "100 ideas for Belarus. "First, because we are always ready to support young people. Their energy, bright eyes, and ideas are the basis for innovations in the country. It is, in fact, an innovation ecosystem. And secondly, because the interest of our committee is to ensure that ideas reach the manufacturer and the consumer, to organize high-tech modern production. Therefore, we offer the winners of this project to prepare free business plans for their projects. This gives a start to the developments of young people in a great life", noted First Deputy Chairman of the SCST.
