A competition has been announced for the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in the field of quality in 2024

22.02.2024

In 2024, a competition was announced for the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in the field of quality. It is held annually in accordance with Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated November 5, 1998 No. 1705.

The award is an authoritative project in the republican competitive movement for quality. Holding this competition allows us to identify leading enterprises among Belarusian organizations that build their development strategy and tactics based on quality, and ensures recognition of their achievements at the state level.

The award is awarded on a competitive basis to legal entities, regardless of their form of ownership, for achieving significant results in the field of quality and competitiveness of manufactured products, services provided or work performed, the introduction of innovative technologies and modern management methods, as well as for effective and socially responsible business conduct.

The competition is held according to a model that includes seven criteria. Two of them make up the group of “Direction” criteria, three – the group of “Implementation” criteria and two – “Results”.

When assessing, an organization is examined from different angles, since the criteria of the model cover all aspects of its activities and allow us to evaluate the organization as a whole.

Using the Award model allows you to obtain a basic structure for an organization's management system, assess where it is on the path to excellence, understand key strengths and potential gaps in relation to the stated development strategy and achieving long-term success.

The prize is awarded to organizations with the following employees:

    up to 250 people;

    from 250 to 1500 people;

    over 1500 people

in five areas of activity:

    production of non-food products for household use;

    production of food and agricultural products;

    production of products for industrial and technical purposes (except for weapons and military equipment);

    provision of services and performance of work;

    performance of work and provision of services in the field of construction.

The winners of the competition are determined in two stages: based on the results of checking the submitted materials and by conducting an on-site examination using scoring. Organizations that have scored at least 250 points as a result of expert evaluation of materials are admitted to the second stage of the competition (on-site examination).

To confirm the title of competition laureate, organizations must demonstrate: improvement in performance compared to the results achieved during previous participation in the competition; participation in similar competitions in the field of quality; measures to promote achievements in the field of quality and effective management and disseminate best practices.

In 2024, organizations that are laureates of the 2021 Prize have the right to confirm the title of laureate.

The decision to determine the laureates and diploma holders of the competition, as well as organizations awarded special awards, is made by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.

The winners (laureates, diploma recipients, as well as organizations awarded special awards) are awarded at a special ceremony. Laureates are awarded a diploma and a symbol of the Prize, and are also given the right to use the image of the Prize emblem for three years when labeling products and on their packaging, for advertising purposes and documentation.

Information about the winners of the competition is posted on the Gosstandart website, “Quality.bel”, and is also included in the annually published catalog “Winners of the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for Achievements in the Field of Quality”.
