International Conference "Scientific and technical innovations: national experience and international cooperation" was held in Alexandria Library, Egypt

International Conference “Scientific and technical innovations: national experience and international cooperation” and the 59th session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries (CP) of the International Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI)  member states took place in Alexandria Library, Egypt on 15-16 May, 2008. During the session the basic directions and results of ICSTI activities in innovations development were presented. At the CP session Azerbaijan joined ICSTI.

Over 50 representatives from 23 countries have taken part in the events: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Georgia, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Cuba, Latvia, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, South Africa, Italy, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Netherlands. At the meetings the ICSTI was represented by V.Kodola, its director. A. Khairi, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt; T. Khysein, President of the Academy of Science and Technologies of Egypt; B. Enkhtuvshin, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia; N. Kharichev, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation; D. Miller, director of UNESCO Library, etc. took part in the events. Belarus was represented by the director of the Republican Center of Technology Transfer A. Uspenski and deputy director of BelISA A. Chernysh.
