Researchers of the NAS of Belarus became the winners of the prize of the Government of Russian Federation in the field of science and technology
The status of a winner of the prize of the Government of Russian Federation in the field of science and technology is given to Deputy Director of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the NAS Dr. Vladimir Anishchenko and to the head of department of the same institute Dr. Nikolai Paramonov. They were awarded for design and program documentation, preparation of industrial manufacture and development of pre-production model of high-efficiency computing systems (supercomputers) of “SKIF” family including lines 1 and 2 in the framework of Russian-Belarusian group of developers. Totally in 2006 30 research works have been marked in the field of science and technologies.
The program of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on development and creation of high-efficiency computer facilities (code "SKIF") was carried out in 1999-2004. As a result of joint efforts of Belarusian and Russian scientists a modeling line of supercomputers for the decision of tasks of any complexity was created. The program was finished but the joint work of the Belarusian and Russian developers has not stopped. The further research is directed on development of supercomputer platforms and science-based applications on their base. Thus, in 2005 the program "Triada" (“Development and Introduction of Science-Based Computer Technologies on the Basis of Multiprocessor Computing Systems”) in the member-countries of the Union State has started. It includes 14 research projects for space, automobile, tractor, ship-building and instrument-building branches, and also for atomic engineering and defense industry. Within the framework of the program the works are carried out in three basis directions. That is why the program is called "Triada". First, research and development of new science-based computer technologies on the basis of high-efficiency multiprocessor systems produced in the Union State is going on. With a purpose of integration into the global information area the adaptation of advanced foreign computer technologies to conditions of domestic supercomputers is conducted. Attention of the scientists is concentrated also on development of the system software and hardware for use them in concrete areas of the national economy of both countries.
At the moment the draft of the S&T program of the Union State “Development and Use of Hardware-Software Means of GRID-technologies and Perspective High-Efficiency (Supercomputer) Computing Systems of “SKIF” Family” is being discussed by the interested parties. It is directed on preservation of the achieved priority of the Union State and its member-countries in the field of creation and use of modern high-efficiency computing systems and hardware-software complexes on the basis of GRID-technologies. They allow creating super-powerful information environment that can solve scientific, practical, engineering, medical and social tasks of high information complexity.
