Belarusian scientists to discuss cooperation with foreign research centers


On November 1-2, the 1st Congress of Belarusian Scientists will be held in the Belarusian capital. Scientists from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Venezuela, China and other countries have been invited to attend the forum, 1st Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences Piotr Vityaz told reporters on October 29.

“Belarusian scientists and foreign specialists are not only to exchange experience but to determine the further ways of cooperation, to discuss integration in all areas of the scientific activity,” Piotr Vityaz noted.

According to him, when fulfilling the research works the Belarusian scientists should use international standards. “The quality of the domestic goods should meet international standards,” he added.

Taking part in the congress will be 2.5 thousand specialists – leaders of the national ministries, directors and representatives of various companies and research centers of this country. The reports dedicated to innovation processes in Belarus for the last ten years will be voiced at the forum. Specialists will touch upon the issues related to development of the research works in the field of power-engineering, processing industry, agro-industrial complex, chemical and petrochemical branches, health care system, education and other spheres. During the congress, its participants will develop concrete proposals to improve the research activity and to strengthen researchers’ contribution to raise the efficiency of the national economy, stability, security and political independence of the country.

The organizing committee of the congress is led by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Kosinets.
