On an area of 120 sq. meters (including 40 sq. m of unequipped exhibition area for agricultural machinery), in total, over 180 high-tech developments have been presented in the form of field designs, layouts and presentations. They were provided by 11 universities of the Ministry of Education, 4 research institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 3 scientific and practical centers of the Ministry of Health and the "Yansar" company. The Exhibition was accompanied by the VI International Belarusian-Latvian Investment Forum "Baltic Region 2012", Workshop on management of foreign trade activities in the Customs Union and Unified Economic Area, as well as a brokerage with participation of Belarusian and Latvian chambers of commerce and industry. The opening ceremony was attended by Nikolay Snopkov, Minister of Economy of Belarus and Daniel Pavlût, Minister of Economy of Latvia who both stressed the intention of the both sides to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in the interests of economic development of the countries and the welfare of the people of Belarus and Latvia. The Belarusian delegation carrying out its activities at the SCST’s collective stand was composed of 27 experts. They hold over 50 meetings and negotiations with representatives of the scientific and business communities. The main results obtained are as follows:
The members of the delegation got acquainted with the state of the Latvian S&T market, its priorities and prospects of cooperation with Latvian companies, universities and research organizations in a variety of areas.
