Presidential grants for authors of breakthrough projects in Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has approved the order of providing grants in science, education, healthcare, culture. The corresponding decree No. 425 was signed on 13 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

The document specified the order of giving grants of the President of the Republic of Belarus to specialists of scientific, educational, healthcare and cultural organizations who conduct breakthrough scientific research and implement innovative projects which are of special importance for national programs and the socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus. Up to 30 grants per industry can be provided every year. The monthly payments for grant recipients will make up 25 first class tariff rates.

The decree’s provision on presidential grants specified the range of projects which can be implemented by grant recipients, the procedure of nomination and payment, responsibilities of grant recipients for the effectiveness of using funds.

The decree also approved the composition of the national nomination commission which comprised heads and representatives of government bodies, renowned specialists in science, education, healthcare and culture.
