The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has announced a republican competition of creative works dedicated to the Year of Quality.

The competition is held in order to increase the prestige of scientific activity and the quality of training of national personnel, develop creative activity, promote the professional growth of young scientists, stimulate interest in scientific creativity and attract young people to science, create in society responsibility for the results of their work and a sense of belonging to the future of the country.

Representatives of the general public are invited to participate – school, student and working youth, creative people, scientists, representatives of higher education, teachers, cultural figures, graduate students, undergraduates.

The competition will be held by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2024 in seven categories: “Physics, mathematics and computer science – the basis for high-quality processing, transmission, storage and protection of information”; "Physical and technical innovations to increase the competitiveness of domestic industries"; "Achievements in chemistry and environmental management – the Year of Quality"; "Caring for natural resources and preserving biological diversity"; “Medical science is the basis for a high quality of life”; "Humanities – Year of Quality"; "Agricultural science – high quality agricultural products."

In each nomination, the competition is held in three categories: 1st – schoolchildren and students; 2nd – undergraduates, graduate students, young scientists (up to 35 years old as of January 1, 2024); 3rd – academic, university and industrial scientists, teachers, creative people (over 35 years old as of January 1, 2024). In each category, diplomas of I, II and III degrees are awarded.

Participants can be both individual citizens and teams of authors consisting of no more than three people.

The competition includes research results published in the form of articles (a series of articles) in scientific and popular science publications, developments that are competitive, effective, and socio-economically significant, as well as models, samples, scientific reports, presentations, journalistic articles, essays, musical and artistic works, works of prose and poetry.

Materials for the competition dedicated to the Year of Quality, drawn up in accordance with the regulations, are sent in one copy before October 1, 2024 to the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
