Belarus, Russia to institute award for young scientists

An award will be instituted for young specialists of Belarus and Russia, head of the representative office of the Union State Permanent Committee in Minsk Mikhail Orda told the participants of the Youth Innovation Forum Science and Business on 6 November.

There has been taken a decision to institute an award for scientists of the Union State in science and technology, the relevant document has been already prepared. State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, during his recent visit to Minsk, expressed his interest in instituting the same award for young scientists.

“It would be right to envisage an award for young scientists in science and technology. It will be a needed support for young developers who are engaged in innovative breakthrough projects,” Mikhail Orda said.

In his words, the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is highly operational and shows good results. “young scientists are the future of science. Today they have great opportunities to implement projects with the help of the Union State budget,” he said.

In turn, NASB Chief Academic Secretary Sergei Kilin noted that new ideas are expected from the youth today. “We believe that your projects will be lived out,” he added.

A diplomatic school will open as part of the Youth Innovation Forum. Young scientists will be given a tour of the Embassy of Venezuela in Belarus, will be invited to partner in the parliamentary debates, attend interactive lectures in practical psychology and meet with MPs of the National Assembly of Belarus.

The 2nd Youth Innovation Forum Science and Business 2012 opened in Minsk on 6 November. One of the main goals of the forum is to show young scientists how to present their projects. Partaking in the forum are over 150 scientists from 11 countries: Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
