On 30 May-1 June, 2007 in Minsk the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Preparation of the Scientific Staff of Higher Qualification in Terms of Innovative Development of the Economy. Regional, Interregional and International Aspects” will be held.  

The organizers of the Conference:

• State Committee for Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus;
• National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
• Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus;
• High Certifying Board of the Republic of Belarus;
• Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support Science and Technical Sphere (“BelISA", http://belisa.org.by).

The aims of the Conference:

• discussion of problems of personnel maintenance of scientific, technical and innovative activities;
• development of proposals on harmonization of legal and institutional base of scientific staff of higher qualification preparation and certification in Belarus and abroad;
• exchange of international experience;
• Informing of the republican and international community about opportunities in preparation and certification of the staff of higher scientific qualification in the Republic of Belarus, CIS and neighboring countries.

Scientific topics of the Conference:

• Role of the state order in preparation of scientific staff of higher qualification for priority directions of scientific and technical activities;
• Middle– and long-term forecasting of needs in scientific staff and experts of higher qualification for scientific and innovative spheres;
• Continuity of separate parts of the system of higher and post-graduate education;
• Creation of uniform scientific and educational area on the basis of harmonized requirements and criteria of preparation, re-training and certification of scientific and pedagogical staff;
• International cooperation in the field of preparation and certification of scientific staff of higher qualification.
