March 15, 2007
The national academies of sciences of Belarus, Ukraine, and Moldova have started a contest seeking to commend prominent results of joint scientific researches.
Representatives of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus informed BelTA, academic councils of scientific institutions, academicians and corresponding members of the academies of the three countries can nominate series of joint published scientific researches, designs and inventions for the awards.
The awards were instituted in 1996 to be conferred once in two years — one award per natural sciences, engineering sciences, humanitarian sciences, and social sciences. The awards are compiled of national currency shares of Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova. When an award is conferred, the money is evenly distributed between co-authors and paid by the academies of sciences, which employ them.
The deadline for nominations is October 1, 2007.
