Belarus presents its high tech potential in Baku


Belarus has presented its potential in high technologies in Baku. A delegation of the United Institute of the Information Science Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus took part in the 14th Azerbaijani International Telecommunications Exhibition and Conference Baku Tel 2008, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian embassy in Baku. The Belarusian scientists met with the authorities of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (NASA), directors of the institutions of physics, information science and cybernetics, the National Aerospace Agency of Azerbaijan. A special seminar highlighting the prospects of the development of the information communication sector in Belarus took place in the NASA Physics Institute. The presentations covered the potential of the NAS United Institute of the Information Science Problems, space development programmes, opportunities to use the Belarusian supercomputer in the industry and development of internet technologies in the country. Belarusian scientists demonstrated the opportunities of the Belarusian supercomputer centre by installing a distant connection between the resources of the NASA Physics Institute and the NAS United Institute of the Information Science Problems. An agreement on cooperation was signed between the NAS United Institute of the Information Science Problems and the NASA Physics Institute, a protocol on intent on cooperation was inked between the NAS United Institute of the Information Science Problems and the National Aerospace Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
